What is an Epoxy Adhesive?

Epoxy adhesives are created by way of polymerizing a blend of two different compounds, the resin and the activator. When resin is blended with a suitable activator, curing process starts. Curing is the method wherein molecular chains react at chemically active formation, leading to an exothermic reaction. Reaction of epoxides with catalytic homopolymerisation or polyfunctional catalysts forms a thermosetting polymer, often with high mechanical properties and high thermal and chemical resistance.
